Gladys was a master’s student at Tshwane University of Technology in South Africa in the department of Electrical Engineering/F’SATI. Her research project was on the design and implementation of a wideband microwave receiver at Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory under supervision of Dr. George Nicolson and Prof. Anish Kurien.
She was born in Nakuru, Kenya. After completion of her secondary education, Gladys enrolled for a national diploma at Durban University of Technology through the support of SKA, SA. She later obtained a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electrical Engineering from the same university. During her studies, Gladys trained at Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory and Square Kilometre array.
Upon completion of her master’s, Gladys aimed to further her studies and obtain a PhD in Radio Frequency Engineering majorly focusing on Radio Frequency Interference mitigation measures.
